Measuring Technique: Menisci & Tibial Plateaus

Soft Tissue Measurements

Lateral Meniscus Length:Maximum measurement from anterior to posterior.
Lateral Meniscus Width:Maximum measurement from the ICT to the outer meniscal margin, medial to lateral.
Medial Meniscus Length:Maximum measurement from anterior to posterior.
Medial Meniscus Width:Maximum measurement from the ICT to the outer meniscal margin, medial to lateral.

*Take all measurements prior to releasing, cutting, and/or shaping the menisci.
*ICT=Intercondylar Tubercles, two bony eminences (one medial and one lateral) near the center of the tibial plateau.

Bone Block Measurements

Block Length: Maximum measurement of bone block from anterior to posterior.
Block Height: Minimum measurement from cartilage surface to cut-end of block.
Block Width: Minimum measurement taken medial to lateral.
